When thinking through the collapse of Wall Street, a group of entrepreneurs launched a social-minded project to strengthen the market. It was called Malamulele Onward. Its objective was to send medics to rural hospitals in South Africa. In search for more money, Malamulele Onward was registered on the SASIX (The South African Social Investments Exchange). This is a sort of exchange in which a list of projects in South Africa is collected. SASIX’s main purpose is that you can invest in those projects like you can invest in normal shares. However the main idea is that the return from your investment is social rather than financial. I think it is very important to underline that all those projects are carefully screened to achieve severe criteria so your investment is relatively safe. Luckily, the SASIX isn’t the only in its kind. In Brazil they created a similar exchange and in India, New Zealand, Portugal and Thailand projects like the SASIX are being launched. Despite its noble intentions, reactions, and this sounds a little strange to me, don't seem to be only positive.
